Chef Javier Bravo

Javier Bravo cumulates over 20 years of culinary experience and has worked in the hospitality industry and in some of the best restaurants in Spain, the south of France, USA and Portugal. Since June 2015 until this day, he occupied the position of Executive Chef at Penha Longa Resort.

Born in Catalonia in 1980, Chef Bravo started cooking at home with his grandparents. Inspired by the region’s vineyards and the rich flavours of the Mediterranean coast and countryside, Javier Bravo showed a keen interest in cookery. He began his career working alongside Basque chef Martin Berasategui, who holds eight Michelin stars in total and deepened his knowledge of the culinary culture during his experience with other renowned Michelin awarded chefs, Jean Louis Neichel & Paco Perez. In February 2004 he joined the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company to further develop his skills, working at hotels in Barcelona, Los Angeles Wolfsburg and Singapore.

Chef Bravo’s cooking style is fresh and simple. As an Executive Chef, he likes to explore contemporary variations of Mediterranean cuisine and is passionately committed to service excellence.
